Cosmetic Tattoos

History of Cosmetic Tattoos

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which inputs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye lining (eye shadows) and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost their eyebrow hair as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy or a genetic disturbance. Paramedical is the term used to describe the process of disguising scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, after breast surgery or reconstruction due to mastectomy.

Before & After Creations

Nikki Foy received her training in eyebrows, lip coloring, eyeliner, color correction, and pigment removal from the Beau Institute of Permanent Cosmetics in 2012. She has been boosting the confidence of individuals who have lost their eyebrows and eyelashes as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy, trichotillomania, or other genetic disturbances. However, permanent cosmetics are not just for those who have fallen on hard times. Permanent cosmetics are an aesthetic enhancement that can give you fuller brows, more defined lash lines, and the illusion of fuller lips. Everyone has asymmetry in their face, cosmetic tattoos can even out this asymmetry and allow you to wake up with makeup!

In addition to her Tattooing experience, Nikki received her BA in Art History from Rutgers University in 2007. She has an extensive background in aesthetics as well as color theory which has directly contributed to her success in cosmetics. She also frequently takes supplemental training courses in Cosmetics with her mentor Bonnie Hall of Bonnie Hall Ink in Haddonfield, NJ and will soon be training with Ms. Hall, learning the fine art of Areola pigmentation, scar camouflage, and scalp aesthetics for those men and women suffering from hair loss.
