Body sculpting is a treatment technique that uses a laser, liposuction, or both to remove unwanted deposits of body fat. Certain areas of the body collect fat at a much faster rate than others. When these areas become saturated with fat, losing it can be challenging. For most patients, these areas are the ones that resist weight loss. No matter what you do or try, the fat remains.
Body sculpting techniques target these areas, breaking down the fat cells so they can be removed or damaging them so the body's defenses can come in and break them down, carrying away any excess residue. The result is a slender, more toned body. The procedure defines and outlines muscles within the body making it look more natural and slender.
Your provider can help you determine what areas of your body will benefit from a body sculpting procedure.
The SculpSure laser uses energy waves to disrupt fat cells, causing them to break down and be flushed from your body. The laser sends energy into the tissues and heats the fat cells to a temperature between 42 and 47 degrees Celsius. Because the cells can't tolerate this type of heat, they begin to deteriorate making it easier for the body to flush them away.
The treatment lasts less than 30 minutes and provides long lasting, sometimes permanent results. The laser is used to reach areas of the body that don't normally respond to exercise, dieting, or other weight loss techniques. Your provider will be able to determine where the SculpSure technique can be used most effectively.
When it comes to body sculpting, the SculpSure laser offers a broad range of benefits compared to traditional liposuction procedures. Laser procedures are minimally invasive, there's less trauma to the body, and the risk of infection is minimal. With traditional liposuction, the recovery time can last for several weeks. The recovery time for a SculpSure procedure is less than two weeks. In most cases, you can resume your day-to-day activities within three or four days. For most patients, the results are permanent. During your initial examination, your MedSpa provider will discuss with you what type of results you can expect to receive.
Body sculpting can target many areas of the body. The following areas tend to hold fat, making it almost impossible for diet and exercise to make a difference.
Building muscle may cover the deposits, but they’re still present. Using lasers to remove the fat deposits gives the body a more natural appearance without making you look as if you have an excessive amount of muscle tissue.
Your provider can help determine which areas of your body are most resistant to weight loss. That will help determine which areas will benefit the most from a body sculpting treatment.
With the SculpSure laser, you will be able to see results rather quickly. Although some loss may be noticeable after the first few days, the initial results can be seen in as little as three weeks. It takes time for the fat cells to break down completely causing the results to appear more gradually than with traditional liposuction techniques.
Your final results will be visible in approximately 12 weeks. Because the fat cells are damaged, they don't degrade completely on their own. Once they're no longer viable, the body's immune system takes over and completes the process, permanently flushing them from the body. If you have any questions concerning when your results will start to appear, your Medspa provider will be able to give you a close estimation.
For many, the results of a body sculpting procedure are permanent. The fat cells aren't minimized but are damaged to the point where they can no longer survive. Once the body has broken them down, they’re flushed out of the body permanently.
If the area does begin to accumulate fat in the future, it isn't due to the previous fat cells returning. It's due to an increase in the production of new fat cells. Once you’ve had a body sculpting procedure, the idea is not to gain any new weight. Although this may not be entirely possible, the key is to maintain a regular exercise routine and eat a healthier diet. Your provider can offer you recommendations on how to improve your diet and exercise programs.
